There’s a Buzz in the City…

Don’t miss Farleigh Hospice’s un-bee-lievable, family-friendly, walking art trail that’s making Chelmsford buzz this summer!

Buzz in the City opened on Saturday 5 July. There are 30 six-foot-tall bee sculptures to find in Chelmsford’s streets and parks. Each one has been painted with a unique design by a talented artist. You can also find 25 smaller mini bees that have been decorated by community groups, schools and care homes

The art trail was officially launched by the Mayor of Chelmsford, Councillor Jannetta Sosin, when she unveiled the ‘Radio Queen’ bee sculpture in the High Street.

Since then, thousands of people have walked through the city’s streets and parks, looking for the bees and discovering parts of Chelmsford that they may not have visited before. How many bees can you find before the trail closes on Tuesday 9 September?

To follow the trail and discover them all, download the free Buzz in the City mobile app or buy a printed trail map from any Farleigh store, with chances to enter competitions and claim rewards, including exclusive discounts and downloads.

Don’t forget to visit the Buzz in the City pop-up shop at Farleigh’s Full Circle store in Chelmsford High Street, next to the entrance of the Meadows Shopping Centre. It sells a range of bee-autiful gifts and souvenirs plus the art trail map.

Farleigh Hospice is working with Chelmsford For You – the City’s Business Improvement District – to organise Buzz in the City, with the support of Chelmsford City Council. The trail’s headline sponsors are Teledyne e2v and Fisher Jones Greenwood Solicitors. For art trail news and information on the sculptures, artists and sponsors, go to www.buzzinthecity.org
