The Rotary Club’s 21st Swimarathon

Over the weekend of 21st to 23rd March 2025, the Rotary Club of SWF held a Swimarathon at the Leisure Centre Swimming Pool. It was our 21st event and over those years thousands of swimmers have participated in the healthy and fun occasions, raising tens of thousand of pounds for worthy causes.

This year we were very grateful to the Mayor of our Town, Councillor Alan Shearring for starting the proceedings (as shown in the photo) following which, over the weekend, thirty-five teams and over two hundred swimmers took to the water, swimming solo in relay for 40 minutes and then as a team for five minutes of Mayhem. Teams from Collingwood; Elmwood; Trinity St. Mary’s and Woodville schools took part as did youth organisations; their leaders; family groups and our Inner Wheel. Our sincere thanks go to all participants and to the helpers and sponsors. It is an administrative challenge fronted by our Club which would be difficult to achieve without such support. But the end result has been a fun event raising money for Cancer Research UK; Open Road; SWF Rotary Charitable Trust and charities nominated by the teams.

Please put next year’s event, 20th to 22nd March 2026, in your calendar and participate in helping us to run another successful Swimarathon. It will be open to all!
