Great Big Green Week is the UK’s biggest celebration of community action to tackle climate change and protect nature.
This national event is taking place during 7th-15th June 2025. The u3a South Woodham Ferrers Eco Group will be holding an event on Saturday 14th June at Champions Manor that everyone is invited to called “Let’s Get Green”. There will be displays, talks, stands – more details to follow. We also want to find out if any other groups or individuals are planning anything else to take place during that week – we’ve already heard from a few – as we’d like to publish a timetable of different activities that residents can go to.

The next meeting of our SWF u3a will be on Wednesday 2nd April at the usual time of 13.50 when we will be having a talk on “The real folk of Lark Rise and Candleford”. Mark Carroll will give some background to the characters in the book by Flora Thompson and the British television costume drama series. Visitors are welcome for a small fee.
