If you’ve driven past Woodham Halt recently, you’ve probably heard the sounds of sawing, laughter, and debates over who made the last round of tea. That’s the South Woodham Ferrers Men’s Shed (SWF Men’s Shed) in action—a workshop, a community hub, and a genuine lifeline for local residents.

But behind every great project – including our massive upcoming Marsh Farm expansion—is a dedicated crew steering the ship. Our Annual General Meeting (AGM) is just around the corner, and we are putting out a massive call for new and old faces to step up in our family!

Don’t panic! You do NOT need to be a master craftsman to join our committee. In fact, you don’t even need to know the difference between a hammer and a hacksaw.

We are a community family first and a workshop second. To keep growing, we need people who care about South Woodham Ferrers, enjoy working in a team, and have skills that don’t involve sawdust.

We have various vital Trustee and Committee roles up for grabs, or we have to FORCE the current ones to do it again:

• The Organisers: Chairman & Vice Chairman
• The Brains: Secretary & Treasurer (To keep our paperwork straight and our pennies counted!)
• The Ground Crew: Shed Manager, Projects Officer, & Asset Management Officer
• The Safeguard: Health & Safety Officer (To make sure we keep all our fingers!)
• Cheeky Chappies: Social Media wizard (Marketing & Media Officer), plus our Sponsorship & Fundraising Coordinator.
• Heart & Soul: Membership & Welfare Officer, and the Social Activities Officer (Crucial for organising the fun!)
