Rotary’s Thanks to a Generous Community

Although we could not travel the streets of SWF this year, we took Santa’s Sleigh and snowmen to Windle Court Care Home as well as Collingwood, Woodville, Elmwood, Trinity St. Mary’s and St Joseph’s Primary Schools.

A great time was had meeting all the children and adults to maintain the magic of the time of year.

With our thanks, we were permitted to position ourselves at Sainsbury’s and Asda for two days on each of the weekends before Christmas and our Inner Wheel ladies on Sundays as well.

The level of donations was fantastic, and we will be working to make people’s lives better through the town’s generosity.

This year our sponsors dug deep with their support for the Sleigh for which we gratefully thank Spantec, Rickard Luckin, Raytel, Ahead 4, Rigwell & Guildway, and Sternberg Reed.

We have few expenses as we are all volunteers so nearly every penny collected will be applied through our Rotary Charitable Fund to worthy charitable causes. However another great benefit was the look on the faces of the children as they talked to the big man.

We do need more help to keep this initiative going so, if you feel up to it and are able to help, please drop us an email and we will keep in touch about things we are doing.

Thank you all.
