Our Youth Committee again organised, with independent judging, a competition for young people in painting; in writing; and in photography.
The competitions offer young people the opportunity to unlock their skills and broaden their horizons. Two pupils of William de Ferrers academy school pictured below (and one from Trinity St Mary’s Primary—to receive an award soon) received their prizes from Rtn Roger Gatford, Deputy Chair of the Committee.
In the Seniors competition, the judges, after much time deliberating, awarded Mia and Kai as Joint Winners of the Photographic Competition within our Club and both entries went forward to Rotary District level which was won by Kai whose entry now is at the National level competition. Mia also won the Young Artist and Kai the Young Writer Competitions. Our congratulations to Mia and Kai and also to every entrant for their hard work.
We hope to run the Competitions again towards the end of the year. They are open to all young people in SWF. Give it a go!
