If you enjoy fresh air, keeping active and being part of nature on your doorstep, you could join the Parks volunteer team. There’s a range of activities you may want to try, all equipment is provided and you can meet like-minded, friendly nature enthusiasts. Beginners are very welcome!
Opportunities this year include:
Conservation volunteers
Get active in nature and warm up those green fingers this winter. This year, conservation volunteers are working on special projects at Marconi Ponds, Chelmsford’s smallest Local Nature Reserve, as well as a host of other actions at Hylands Parks, Chelmer Valley Local Nature Reserve and in South Woodham Ferrers, to mention just a few. Sessions will start again in late January, find out more on the Love Your Chelmsford conservation volunteer page.
Garden volunteers
The garden volunteers begin again in mid-March and you could be part of maintaining Green Flag award winning parks and gardens this year. Whether you are new to gardening or are a seasoned professional, you could be part of this fantastic group.
