The South Woodham Rotary Club has proudly served the town for 42 years, bringing joy to children each Christmas with their annual Santa’s sleigh.
Initially started to spread festive cheer by delivering sweets to young children, the sleigh has become a cherished tradition. The sleigh undergoes regular maintenance and inspections to ensure it is safe and ready for its festive journey, with careful attention been given to the reindeer to making sure they are fit and healthy!
Typically, the sleigh would make its rounds on the first two weekends leading up to Christmas, but this year some adjustments are necessary. Due to congested roads and a shortage of volunteers, the usual road routes will not be in operation. However, the Rotary Club is excited to continue the tradition by visiting local schools and venues during early evenings. They will also be outside Sainsbury’s supermarket from December 12th to 14th and at Asda from December 19th to 21st.
The Club looks forward to seeing all the smiling faces and reminds everyone to save a carrot or two for the reindeer!
