Ten boxers from Church Boxing, Maldon attended the “King of the Ring” boxing tournament in Boras Sweden in November 2024, this is a tournament that lasts three consecutive days and is one of the biggest boxing tournaments in Europe with over 600 boxers.
Pictured is Richie Courtney-Underhill with his boxing coach Darrel Church of Church Boxing, Maldon. Richie won his category after winning two bouts in one day to secure himself a gold medal. Richie trains four times weekly and is dedicated to his sport. He demonstrated an extraordinary level of grit and determination to win two fights in one day only.
Church boxing won five gold medals and one silver across the tournament, they did exceptionally well against clubs throughout Europe.
