Are you struggling to walk your Dog?
I first heard of the Cinnamon Trust about 10 years ago. Having dogs ourselves you tend to talk to other dog walkers and on this particular occasion the gentleman walking this dog said that he wasn’t the owner but a volunteer for the Cinnamon Trust and was walking the dog on behalf of an elderly lady who could no longer walk the dog herself. I remember thinking then what a brilliant idea it was and something I would like to do when I retired. Scroll on 10 years and I’m now retired with some extra time on my hands!
I am currently walking a dog for a lady who absolutely adores her fluffy companion and if she had to give him up she would be devastated, so together with a couple of other volunteers it means that we can give the dog the exercise it requires and the dog can remain where is best for him and for her – by her side.
Just to tell you a little more about the charity itself:-
The charity was established in 1985 and although it is based in Cornwall, it is a national charity with 1700 volunteers. They offer daily help for the terminally ill or people over 65 who can no longer walk their dogs and including short term fostering and even life time care, and not just for dogs, but almost any pet that the client may have.
The Cinnamon Trust do not charge for their services which are funded by gifts, donations and fundraising activities.
If anyone would like to find out more about the charity, how to apply for their services, how to become a volunteer, or how to donate, then please visit their website www.cinnamon.org.uk or call 01736 757 900
