Autumn has arrived in the UK and we are at the equinox, when we have equal amounts of daylight and dark before we move into the longer darker days of winter.
This is a great moment to set the intention to put down our phones and allow the natural light from outside to touch our eyes especially early in the day.
Did you know your body has its own internal clock…and light is its master switch?
The pituitary gland, often called the “master gland,” sits at the base of your brain and regulates hormones that govern growth, stress, metabolism, and reproduction. But it also takes its cues from light, through the messages it receives from the eyes.
Morning light helps set your circadian rhythm, telling the pituitary when to release the right hormones so you feel awake, balanced, and in flow with your day.
From a holistic perspective, light doesn’t only trigger physical changes, it’s also energetic. Just as sunlight regulates your hormones, its resonance to your inner values, clarity, and vision support your wellbeing at a deeper level.
This relates strongly to the seventh or crown chakra which takes light as its element with a theme of insight, vision and intuition.
Physical harmony and balance in the brain and body happen when different neural networks fire together to create coherence rather than conflict. This neural integration supports and mirrors the qualities of the seventh chakra.
When crown chakra energy is balanced, that resonance extends to connection to self, others, and something beyond ourselves.
My seven-day energy reset challenge is coming in November! I can’t wait to share all the details with you so that we all finish the year on a high.
